Hello everyone,

I'm hoping I can figure out this problem I have with my audio setup. I would appreciate any help I can get as this is a big pain. This is kind of a long story but I will try to make it short, if you need me to clear anything up, please ask. On a side note I'm not very mechanicaly/electronicaly/audio inclined. lol

So here's the deal:

My buddy and I have basically the same setup. We have mazda6s with ported boxes for 2 10's. We both have Rockford Fosgate P3 4ohms. But his are shallow mounts and mine are the regular subs. So I'm expecting mine to hit harder, but his are way **** louder. Mine aren't even close, it's ridiculous. On the amps he has a older RF 2 channel 600 watt amp, and I have a SSL 2 channel 1000 watt. Your probably thinking it's the amp, but we switched amps tonight to test, and mine still is not living up to my expectations. What could it possibly be??? I'm starting to think there is something wrong with my subs.

Definitely a headache. Thanks for the help

his has less power handling, so therefore his subs are probably seeing power closer to there specs, whereas your amp isnt probably pushing out the amount of power that the woofers are actually asking for (RMS). that would make more sense to me

Man I will be pissed if its the subs, I got them from sonic, what would be wrong with them? The box is for normal subs

im just taking a stab here but i think he ment that he wired his coils in series to 8 ohm then in parallel to a 4 ohm load and bridged his amp. Check all your wiring one sub may be out of phase. At least your going about trouble shooting the right way by eliminating possible culprits. check the amp settings too

If you want 5 channels of amplification you just need 5 channels of amplification. You can do this with 5 amps or 1, depends on budget and space...
