Need Help

Ok, I'm pretty new at this stuff, so be gentle. I recently changed my head unit because my old alpine ida-x200 decided to take a dump on me. Since I was tight on money this week, I bought this. It's not bad, but it is no where as loud as my alpine was. I mean, I have it on 40 (highest is 50) and it's still not as great. I have no subs or amps and my old alpine would still shake my mirrors. They are pretty similar in specs, so I don't understand why its lower?
