Need Help!!

I have a mono amp and will be getting a 4 channel amp..with the dual amp setup what fuse should i have under the hood??..my mono amp is 60 fuse rating and my 4 channel will be a 40 amp fuse rating...does that mean i need at most a 100A fuse under the hood?? also..what kinda distro block do i need to run 4 guage in and 2 out?? do i need a 1/0 guage in and a 2 4 gauge out??...thanks for the help

Well a little more info would help a lot.

What amps are you running?

I always recommend 1/0 gauge. You will more than likely never have to change it.

You need around 100 under the hood, but ensure the pwr wire you have can support that. I recommend at least 4awg for that type of current. It would be best to run 4awg in and 4awg out to each amp. If the amps are internally fused, then put another 100A fuse in the d-block for each run, if they are not internally fused, then fuse each run at the max that particular amp will pull.

What trigger said about the 1/0 is good, but if you are on a budget, then 4awg will do, assuming you pull no more than 150A.

yes i have 4 gauge all the way to amp and ground too...my mono amp has 30A x 2 fuses on it...and my fuse at my batt is 60A AGU right now...i really wanna run 4 gauge all around with that 4 channel i will get...what kinda distro block do i need?? 1/0 in and 2 4 guage out??...i mean with the 1/0 in i can use smaller it wont hurt....at the distro block i would have a 60A fuse for the mono line and a say 40A fuse for the 4 channel line..correct??...and say a 100A fuse under the hood??...does it matter what kind?? could i have a MAXI or ANL or should i stick with AGU what i already have..does it really matter?? i want good quality...my amp is a kenwood 1700w mono KAC-9102D...my 4 channel that i really want is an US Amps USA-425 or 4300X...depends which one i see in NYC when i go there soon...thanks for the help...if you can answer all my questions that would be great any info helps.
