Need Help :-(

Well i tried to search but couldnt find any thing i needed or just overlooked it. THis is my first time dealing with car subs and its for me nad my girls 4 yr anniversary. SHe has a 1997 Grand Prix all leather. Because of the trunk size and leather i plan on goin with wither 2 12" Kicker Comp VRs or one real high end sub (ex. MTX 8500, Kicker L7, etc..) My question is im super illiterate when it comes to the wiring. I have a Kicker KX 600.1 mono amp which ill be using. If i go with The Kicker Comp VRs(the ones already enclosed in the box from Kicker) can i use this amp with no problems. The exact model is the Kicker CompVR DCVR12 4-ohm. It says Single 4-Ohm Load at Terminal Cup. The guy at Circuit City says it will work but...u know how that is. Can i use these or would i have to find the Kicker CompVR DCVR12 2-ohm. Thanks for the help guys.

PS> If i can a single 12" that would blow here away(more sql but still real good sq) i would do that over the 2 12s. If you guys have any suggestions.

Well i already have the amp, kit, component and 6x9s for the car. All thats left are the subs. I have found the Kicker CompVR DCVR12 4 ohms (this the the box and both subs complete) for about 275. I figure i can either go that way or a decent high end sub found on ebay. Like an l7 or such. I jsut need to know if the CompVR package im looking at is compatiable with mine and at what ohm load it would be running. AKA. Will it sound good? Thanks

yes, that amp will work pefect for that Kicker box, the amp wants a 2 ohm load and will work as long as it's ran to either two DVC 2's or one DVC 4

Yea the problem is a think the box contains two DVC 4 ohms. Or am i misreading. Their is a 4-ohm and a 2-ohm box

yes, we make them available in 2 ohm load and 4 ohm, at the cup

Hmmm see i can get a great deal on ebay but can only find the 4 ohm. when i get them can they be wired down to two? If not what kind of amp would i need for the 4 ohm? A 1ohm stable AMp?

yes, a one stable amp...try CC, they have them in DVC 2 setup for 2 ohm...

Just so you know, that L7 is the perfect sub for that amp. If you were to get a 4 ohm DVC sub, it would wire down to 2 ohms and sound fantastic and blow her away with the bass. My friend has that exact setup in his Taurus, and Pontiacs are excellend acoustically. Get yourself a ported box with that L7 and you are good to go.

Yea ur right i heard a l7 single today(the one in the kicker enclosure and it sounded amazing. Blew the 2 12" Vrs out of the water. I ordered the L7 sub off ebay(235 shipped). Can anyone recommend a box that would be awesome for this(one i can buy) that wont break the bank. Keep in mind I cant make my own:-(
