Passive Radiator Setups

Anybody ever try this before?

I just put in a 10" passive radiator in with my JL 10W3. It's in a 1.5 cube box with about 300 watts to it, as opposed to a .9 cube sealed for the single 10".

The box itself is pretty airtight so has some good punch to it, but as a general assessment of the addition of the passive radiator, I'd say it added alot more low end, but did little/nothing to effect the sound quality.

Um, what does that mean? IIRC... smalls...?
I used a random dual 10" box I had laying around, used a cone and spider assy from a Polk dx 10".
IIRC = if I recall correctly

Small = The "S" in T/S parameters //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Theil and Small were pioneers in loudspeaker design...

Double driver displacement meaning I would need two PR's to achieve the desired effect?

IC, IC, this makes sense.

I think I will leave it lie as it sits... Theres probably 3 hours and 80 bucks in the whol3 lot of it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I'd love a link to a website with that kind of info though. If you care to diect me...

Anybody have a couple of blown 10" subs?
Thanks Jack, you are indeed helpful.

You do realize a passive radiator system isn't just tossing some unpowered drivers in the box, correct? Tuning frequency is a function of the mass and compliance (IIRC) involved aswell.
