need help with wiring...

ok, i have a rockford fosgate 700S amp (700 watts). i'm looking to get a wiring kit, but i don't know what all i need. the amp says it needs 8 guage, so i'm guessing that i need an 8 guage wiring kit. is it possible to go with a 4 guage kit, or would that not turn out too well?

i have 2, audiobahn A1051Q subs (dual 4 ohm voice coil, 2 or 8 ohm operation). in order to max these subs out i need to wire the amp up so that its running at 2 ohms (350x2) or 1 ohm (700x1). which one should i go with? 1 ohm?

also would a kit with this wiring be all i needed? (excluding the power and ground wires)

As far as the subs to the amp, you can go either way. You can wire the subs themselves in parallel then run them each to their own channel, or run the subs themselves in parallel, then parallel to each other, then bridge the amp for a mono load. The former method is a bit easier.

As far as a wiring kit.....you could also do either, although I'd probably go with 4AWG, since the price difference is negligible, and it's better to be safe then sorry.

if i went with the 4AWG wouldn't i still need a ground and power wire? it says on the amp specs to go with the 8 guage anyways...i'm ordering the amp from this guy, so i figured i may as well get my wiring from him too...

so does it really matter if its wired 2 ohm or 1 ohm? the amp's only like 175x2 @ 4 ohms...

You can go with either 8 or 4...I was just saying I'd personally use 4.

Wire the subs in parallel for a 2 ohm load, then wire each to their own channel of the amp.
