Need help with speaker or hu problem

I got sum speakers from best buy for my car. 2 6x9s for the bak and 5 1/4s for the front. Im not gonna lie, they werent the cheapest speakers but i kno they werent the best quality but i put em in and they sounded pretty decent. I was satisfied for what I spent but after about 3months I had the music down low and all the sudden all the speakers just started crackling and sounding really distorted. Sounds like all of em. I kno I couldnt have blown my speakers with the volume on 12 so wat could it be??? The deck is cheap so could it possibly be that? Now I gotta pretty much keep the music below 15 to avoid crackling but I have no bass now. Any advise would be much appreciated.

yes you can ,its called distortion , it messes up the coil and leads which can make it sound crappy and crackle

My opinion..you are going to have to replace the speakers...Sounds like theyre blown???If you want to crank it up,you are going to have to amplify,or continue to spend money on speakers,or listen to Distortion/blown speakers.Just because you didnt go beyond level 8/10 or?? doesnt mean you cant damage your speakers..all music is different,and play different levels/notes/tones and at different volumes.Its distortion that damages most speakers,rather than overpowering them..My opinion though??

I suppose it is possible, if they ALL crapped out at once that the internal amplifier in the HU is going out, you can try poping one out, hooking in up to something else, if it plays fine, well there is your answer. Unfortantly your going to have to go one of two not so wonderful ways with this...either just buy new speakers with the risk of that not being the problem or spend a lot of time trying to figure it out with the risk of it being the problem....
