Need help with my sub and amp

I have one Pioneer DVC 4 ohm subwoofer TS-W259D4 (350 watt RMS / 1200 watt max), with a Stealth 2.8 2-channel AMP (2 x 400 watt / 800 watt max), which is stable at 2 ohms.

I bought these two thinking they were compatible, but it's been a while since I bought them and haven't gotten round to installing them yet, now I'm beginning to question whether they are compatible or not.

The total ohm load is set at 2 ohms because I bridged both channels on the amp and used parallel wiring between the dual voice coils on the sub.. but I cant get it in my head if the amp is too powerful for the sub or not.. so I looked online to find a forum related to this kind of stuff and that someone could clear this up for me.

I need to know if I'm just imagining things or if it can be wired so that they can work together, because I did read a lot about this before buying them but I've just forgotten most of it and I don't want to think I've wasted my money :p

If you're willing to help and I haven't explained something well enough just say, so I can try to explain it better.

Just set your gains so that your amp puts out around 400RMS
Thank you for replying, but what does that actually mean? I don't have any means of measuring the gain, so how can I know if it's putting out around 400 RMS?

I take it this means the amp is technically too powerful?
