I have 2 10 inch dvc mtx 9500's and 2 Soundstream PCA 2000D's. I want to bridge both these amps together so i can combine the power to run my 2 subs. but dont know how to wire the subs and amps together.
i would only run one of those amps to the pair of 9500 10s. just wire it down to 1 ohm. running bot of those on a subs rated at 750 each will not be a good idea if the amp acutally does rated power
i have it wired like that right now and every time i try turning up the gain it starts distorting. So i have my gain all the way down. i think the distortion might be clipping the subs?
amps dont magically run on nothing. you have to be able to feed them the amperage that they want. especially at a 1 ohm load where efficiency takes a good bit of a drop.
when you turn the gain up its causing the amp to draw more current. which your car cant supply. which causes the amp to clip and make the subs sound distorted, clipping will also cause the subs to overheat and die.
you need to do the big 3 in 1/0 and add at leas 1 group 31 battery in the back and a strong starting battery. there are a couple members on here that sell batts at a killer price just look thorough the classifieds section.
you may also need a high output alt depending on the size of the factory one.
alright i will look for a high oupur alternator. Do you know of any sites that sell high output alternators at killer prices? cause they can get pretty spendy.
lol, you need to run 1/0 from your chassis to engine block, battery to chassis, and alt to positive on the battery. then you need to get a second battery.
I will switch out those wires and see what that does but isn't adding a secondary battery just more work for the alternator cause instead of one battery then it'll have two to charge?
thats part of the reason youll need the h/o alt. but running just an alt is like using an air compressor with no tank. the work it can do is limited with out the reserve capacity.
Yeah that does make sense. But my bro has the same problem except he has 2 DVC 9500's and an audiopipe 15001d amp. and his diesel truck has two batterys and a pretty big alternator but its all stock. So thats why im questioning if thats the real cause for the distortion or clipping.
