Need help w/ wire size and maybe electrical upgrades

twisted speaker wire is supposed to cut down on noise pickup. i've never had a problem with the regular stuff, but YMMV.

2 awg from the battery... and wire is wire, get sheilded, not twisted, THAT will cut the noise.

1. It wasnt reffering to your post if you thught it was.

2. I used 8 ga power wire, not 8 ga speaker wire.

The jacket is thicker and i dont have a nice plastic covering

The thicker the wire the better! However, any wire thicker than what you have will help!

My car has 8 guage, if that, attached stock. I'm only going to run 4 guage for the big 3, and I'm also going to add a power distribution block on the back (Currently just running amps + and - in parallel), and I AM expecting a noticable difference.

Also, make sure you can get a lot of slack in the wires. If you want to move a capacitor from one side of the trunk to the other, and you don't have the length of wire, you = screwed.

if i have more than 2 amps is that when i should start looking into a "big 3"?

if you have a dimming problem, that's when you should start looking into the big 3...or if you have enough current draw to severely outmatch your alternator's output.
