need help unlocking a kenwood excelon ddx8017

ok so last weekend i bought a cobalt ss and it had a kenwood excelon ddx8017 duble din so i said sweet i scored take it home see that the head unit does not turn on figure its the fuse so i check it and the fuse is good so i take the head unit out turns out its not hooked up orderd the instal kit hook it up and now its says it need a code to unlock the duble din. does any one know how i can by pass this or a master code?

The master code is usually "KCAR" but you will need a remote to enter it, cant be done on the display...

Letters correspond with the numbers. Like on your cell phone keys

hahah yea i mite be doing that as well since mine is a duble din all i can do is use the touch screen to put in the 4 digit code

i had similar issue with a Clarion a while back. it's like $100 to get it unlocked from the manufacture. $20 shipping to and from and $60 for the unlocking.

weird.....never herd of a aftermarket deck having a standard code (I no a lot of them you can put a code in)

Cool as a dealer I just emailed kenwood
