Need help, sub not playing music

i wired my amp and sub perfectly to my knowledge with the help of my dad ( a proffesional electrician) and the red light turns on to the amp (kenwood excelon x20) But no music goes to the sub. Could it be a bad ground? We grounded it to a pretty good size bolt the protrudes from under the truck. I cleaned it and dremeled it with a cleaning bit. What else could it be?

Red light usually means the amp is in protect mode (Could be different on your amp), and it will not play anything at that point, check all of your sub wiring, it could be wired at too low of an impedance for your amp......

Other than that, check RCA's....

i'm pretty sure the sub wiring is in good shape i checked it, but it might be the rca's ill go look. but is a bad ground a possibility because that would be bad and i would like to know sooner than later. Thanks for the help

You could use sand paper or something to get the ground down to bare metal and that could help....

But idk if that would stop music from playing if the amp isn't in protect, a bad ground can cause a whine sound....

im pretty sure its in protect, and i have the amp bridged and wire to 4 ohms, and i have my sub wired to 4 ohms. Any other ideas? checked the rca cables. although the rca cables are red and black, and the terminals on the HU are red and white, does that make a difference? I just though as long as you had the same wire going to right and left, then it was all good.

i bought the amp from UMWDawg93 and he said it was in good shape. i tried moving around the ground cable and it didn't turn green. i just remember that my brother tried to but the ring terminal onto the car battery before i removed the ground, and it sparked the ring terminal. Do you think that has anything to do with it? blown fuse? im no genius when it comes to stuff like this haha

well i was in the garage getting the screwdriver to undo the amplifier's ground so i could put the ring terminal onto the car battery, and my brother got a little excited and tried to put the ring terminal on the battery. The car battery sparked the ring terminal, but he pulled it away pretty fast.

if the fuse as busted under the hood wouldn't the amp not show a light at all? or would it still show protection mode? i checked the fuse and it didn't look perfect but it was still in one piece.
