need help smoke??

I was actually laughing at Snoopdan's comment.
then learn how to quote so people don't get the wrong idea, and just maybe you wouldn't get flamed so much. and trust me kiddo, I am far from the only 1 that flames your stupid comments. just read post 3 thats how you do it, oh wait nvm you can't read //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

And you flame me a lot. Do you like me? I mean, that's how little kids usually are with their crushes. Treat them poorly and make fun of them.

Do you just need a huuuug?

well db-r says it sounds like it was the amp but that it sounds like the amp fried my brand new se's also . im going to take them and have them checked out somewhere theysaid that even if they show up on the multi as ok (3.4-4 each voice coil) they stillare probably gonners due to the amount of smoke i described . they said to send the amp back in and they will fix it its under warranty . but now im outanother $30-40 shipping . better than a fire i guess . im not trippin just spent $1200 to do this the right way and it smoked on me . thats my luck . oh well ill give it another shot i guess . thanks yall for letting me know a few things to try first .

no they said there sorry if it did fry them but they dont know what they could do about that .lol i told him he could throw me a 15" nightshade . he said he didnt think he could do that . anyhow . i just got back from one of the local install shops . they tested the subs on a meter and said all both coild on each sub are reading at 4 ohms and they should be fine . i hope so . so now i got to send the amp back to db-r and see what they can do to save it . just hope it dosent take a month or 2 to get it back . and hope the subs are ok when i get it back . i guess itll give me time to build a ported box for them now . thanks again everyone for the help .

a dmm is a must have when troubleshooting. i got one from harbor freight it measures dc and ac but doesnt work for ohms for some reason, but it was only 3.50 lol. you can get ones for like $30. if the subs are reading the right ohms and i think if they are blown they wont stay out they will like go out and drop back in and go back out or something. you could also use the dmm to test to see if the speaker outputs a reading ac or dc i think. ive never tried dc. since usually its ac volts
