sounds like either of few things :

You're getting fequency sent from the head unit (weather it be intended or not intended) and the amplifier is just replicating that fequency with a/c attached at full volume.

or...

your amp's singal inputs are fubar and it's still sending a fequency to the sub at full power until the sub smoked

or...

your amp is toast and just sending DC to the sub.

well then you should look at your return options.

and look at buying at least one new sub.

He answered it twice. They simply freeze like there is DC being fed to them.

Disconnect the RCA's from the amp and turn it back on - see it that still happens.

thats what i was told thats whyi just got the refurb it has a 1yr warranty but im hoping its something i can just fix .
