Need help purchasing wires & stuff...

OK, here is what I will be doing initially with my system.

Running an IVA-D900 Alpine in dash monitor to these 2 amps:

Diamond Audio D3 300.4 2x200w@4ohm (bridged)

eD Nine.1 1x1100w@1ohm

These will run to these drivers:

oZ Matrix Elite 180CS 6.5" comps w/passive x-over

SI 12" Mag D2 subwoofer in 1.3cube sealed enclosure

This system will be in my 1998 Pontiac TransAm, comps in stock door panels & sub in well in hatch.

I need a better understanding of what cables I need & some shopper savvy choices of how to get what I need without spending an arm & a leg.

Eventually, I plan to add an H700 processor, another pair of 6.5's mids, and an 8" midbass driver to round out my system. I may consider adding another set of the ME 180CS comps and adding the tweets to the front stange somehow but, again, I am not totally sure what would be the best solution.

If it helps, I listen to all kinds of music from rap to rock to "techno" (drum & bass, trance, etc). I do not plan on competing with this system, but I want something that can do surround sound for my kids while I am driving around and will deliver the best sound possible within my long term budget.

Thanks for your time & help guys. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

***Oh, and I did read the wiring guide & think I need 4 guage for the sub amp & sub, and 8 guage for the comp amp & comps. But, again, I'm not an experienced installer so help is needed.

If I were you, I'd get 1/0 for main power wire to your trunk. Then split the 1/0 into two 4awg to run to each amp.

http://www.knukonceptz.com/productMaster.cfm?Category=Power%20Wire You can get either wire's but get 1/0awg. (get enough for power wire and ground) Then get the same wire but in 4awg (enough to cover ground and power from distro block TO amps)

Then get this distro http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KNF-12

Then you need RCA's, remote wire, ANL fuse holder, ring terminals....Don't go cheap on your system..you will regret it.

IM me if you have AIM if you need further help

I'm not trying to go cheap, I'm trying to figure out how much of which kinds of cables I need. And I am asking for peoples' opinions on what would be a good value purchase to get this done. Buying cable at $3 a foot can get very expensive VERY quick, so I want to make sure I get the right lengths & sizes & what-not.

I'm pretty sure the amps will have to go in the back, so I need a long 0guage to go from the d900 to the rear of the car, then that distro, then the two 4guages running to the amps, right? After that what would I need to run to the sub & speaker? Also, what will I need to hookup a PS2 or Xbox to the d900? And the D900 will play DVD discs by itself, correct?

You will run the 0 guage from the battery to the distro, then from the distro run the 4 gauge to your amps. The RCA's will run form your HU to your amp.

Oh what type not what size, sorry. If it is an ANL fuse block you need and ANL fuse. On knu, it tells you, actually it makes you choose a fuse before you can even purchase it.

1/0 - Get atleast say 25ft so you can get a nice run to the distro and have some for Big 3.

4awg- I'd get atleast like 15-20ft so you have enough for your amps and if you mess up or something its nice to have extra

RCA's - How ever long it is from your brain to the amps..So I guess you'd need one 4ch and one 2ch...

Distro - One (1/0) input and two (4awg) outputs..fused distro would be a nice idea

Remote Wire - I'd get atleast like 25-30ft...Cheap stuff right there..again just however long it is from your brain to one of your amps THEN the extra amount from one amp to other

Fuse holder(s) and fuses - If you plan on doing the Big 3, then get two ANL fuseholders: One for power wire and one for wire from alt to battery. Then fuse wise: whatever your alt is rated at (say 120 then get 150A fuse) for the Big 3 upgrade fuseholder, then whatever the combined current draw of both amps you will need one for the MAIN power wire. Then fuse each 4awg individually based on each amps current draw

Misc- Ring terminals, new battery terminals (if needed)

KnuKonceptz would be your best bet or PM Johnecon2001. I got a great deal on all my wiring, terminals, fuseholders, etc...he carries Tsunami wiring
