Well....I really want to upgrade my front speakers and I'm having trouble deciding what company to go with. I've got about a $1,000 limit for mains, no more please. I've been looking at B&W and Paradigm. I have a local shop in town that I can hear the Paragdigms but the closest B&W dealer is near 2 hours away. My question is what do you guys think? I mean are the B&Ws worth a 2 hour drive to hear them? If it helps, I'm used to hearing Klipsch speakers, I've grown up with them all of my life. My dad has Cornwalls, Heresys, and rears and centers(that are klipsch just forgot the models). The heresys are really harsh at high ranges but the cornwalls sound really really good, not to harsh and have pretty good mid -range response.

So plz ca.com, help me pimp my HT!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I know of a shop in South Bend that I go to once in a while and I have listened to both Paradigm AND B & W. The B&Ws I heard were the $600/pr. model (602s I believe) and the Paradigm were comparable in price but I can't remember the price. Both had great mid range response and neither were harsh, especially the tweets. I couldn't see you going wrong with either.

Does the shop that is 2 hours away also happen to carry Paradigm?? An A-B comparison is the best way to compare speakers since there are so many variables to consider.

I think checking out the B&W's isn't a bad idea.... You might hate them, or you might love them... Before you buy, listen to all sorts of setups... Also, what are you using for amps and receiver and such?

was waiting for what I already have to be brought up ;P. Well, what I have so far is a pioneer vsx-816, a samsung hd931(think that's right), and a samsung tv but forgot model. I'm just kind of building my system, ya know like when I have the money buy it, kind of thing.

i was at best buy the other day and wandered into their "high end" home theatre room, and the had some martin logan stuff, as well as a few others that didnt **** too bad, prices were high, but their listening setup wasnt tooo bad.

Its worth a check out, i didnt know best buy carried anything but sony and yamaha boxed setups and whatever...

one of thier bose setups they used to have sounded great.

The floor speakers were amped and had great bass response for being 4 foot tall by 10 inches deep by maybe 6 inches wide.
