Need help picking out earbuds

i got a new phone (LG vx8600) and its got an mp3 player. so i go and get a 2GB card and fill it with music, plug in the headphones i bought, and i can hardly hear a d@mn thing. so after doing some research, i decided to buy the "boostaroo" which is essentially an amplifier for such weak *** signals. well the ratings on the boostaroo suggest 8ohm buds for max output. they also say the output is 40mV for that impedance (not sure if thats max or rms however). i would like to keep the impedance of the earbuds low, but of course power handleing is the most important factor. i need some buds that can handle that kinda power and have a relatively low resistance. money is sortof an issue, id like to keep it under $100. any ideas?

I really enjoy these. I have the Sony EX 51's and these own them. Excellent bass, good balance of sound,isolate well, easy to clean, and really comfortable.

i believe the impedance is 16 ohms don't know the power handling, but i know know it's higher than 100db's

they have etymotic er6i earbuds for only 99.00 and they have a low impedance (16 ohm)

ok does anyone know buds with higher power handling? cause if they cant handle the power, the whole thing is useless.

power? they are ear buds bro...you plug them in, and they play louder than your ears can handle.

for the Max spl: 112dB (1 kHz, 1Vrms), is that besically saying it can handle 1000 mV? or is that pertaining to something else? im just not sure if this works the same way as car audio specs do...
