Trying to put in a LOC, which i have never done before. Its for a 2000 chevy cavalier. The wire harness diagram i got off installdr.com doesnt show any rear speakers. The LOC i have just has 2 speaker inputs, but for some reason its not sending out a signal. The amp powers up, put i dont think the rcas are putting out a signal. Im wondering if i have the wrong wiring diagram for the car since it doenst have any rear speakers listed on it. So im thinking that i just have the LOC wired into the wrong wires. Right now i have it hooked up like this:

Right Front + Dark Green

Right Front - Light Green

Left Front + Tan

Left Front - Light Gray

Could someone please help me. Thanks

Those are the right colors, but the wrong polarity. On the right side, the light green is positive and the dark green is negative. Note that there are often additional dark green and gray wires in the harness; make sure you have the correct speaker wires. They should be side-by-side in the harness.

Rear speaker colors: Right (+) dark blue; right (-) light blue; left (+) dark brown; left (-) yellow. Again, some of the colors are duplicated elsewhere in the harness.

Another option would be to tap the LOC directly at the speakers in the trunk.

Sounds like you tapped something besides the speaker wires. Even if you had the polarity wrong there should stll be a signal. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

well i think i figured it out. I ended up tapping into the rear speakers just to check things out. I think its a bad amp. Its a refurb directed audio from ikesound. I hooked up a different amp and it worked. Anyway i can check to see if the amps bad. I even hooked up the amp in my truck and NOTHING. It powers up and everything, just doesnt put out any power.

yea but shouldnt there be a source on the back of the stock cd player that i just can use?

Not on a 2000 Cavalier. There's no remote output because there's no factory amp and no power antenna. There's no accessory power wire because the radio is controlled by the vehicle data bus. Best bet is to find a key-switched fuse or tap the heavy brown wire under the steering column (use a separate fuse if you do this).

so if i tap in under the steering column, i need to fuse the wire running to the amp, which will be the remote lead. If this is correct, what size fuse do i need to put in it? Thanks.
