Can I use deadening to stop rattle?

I just noticed that I'm getting a really bad rattle out of my passenger door. I JUST put in some Rainbow 5 1/4 woofers and I thought that it sounded like they were blown. However, after further review...by pulling the bottom of the inner plastic door away from metal (and hence the grill away from the speaker) the rattle goes away.

I picked up some peel and seel and thought I might use it on the inside of the inner door (plastic door). Do you think that might help illiminate the rattle? I also picked up some clips for the door as 1/3 of the clips that hold the inner door onto the metal frame were broken.

I have a rattle from my back deck hitting the back window...very very annoying. In hondas - a few well placed peices of cardboard makes it completey go away, same with my car, just you can see mine cause they're wedged between the window and the rear deck. Just a tip to those instead of buying deadener, cardboard is cheap, easy to find - and effective //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

I'll have to spend some time trying to find out where the rattle is actually coming from. Its weird as its not so much of a rattle as it is a buzzing. Like I said..I originally thought that the speaker was blown as it just sounds like the speaker is farting out when a bass note hits.

You say when you pulled the grill away from the speaker the rattling stopped. Is the speaker actually hitting the grill ? That will cause your rattling, and may result in damage to the speaker itself. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

To each his own my brother. If it works it works. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'm not sure if its hitting the grill or not. I have to check it out. Havent had time yet. I highly doubt it is though becuase the rainbows sit even lower than the stock speakers.

Try getting some chalk or talcom powder and put it on the inside of the grill. Put the panel back on and crank up the system for a few seconds. Remove the panel and look for chalk/powder on the speaker...
