need help on install

my friend just installed the Clarion vrx755 into his 2000 Dodge Dakota R/T with the infinity sound system. They hooked up every wire except for the blue and white one. He said that everything works perfectly but when he plays a DVD he's getting no sound from it and if he presses the isr button he'll get sound for a second and it will cut out. Any ideas anyone? I'm clueless on this and could use help asap.

did they bypass the factory amp?

you might have to get another dvd player to install in it

i'm not exactly sure...i know they were planning on it...someone told me that we need to switch the blue wire harness wire to the blue/white one. sound about right?
