need help on amp selection

i need some help with picking my amp. I have two alpine type R 12's and need a good amp. I was looking at a mtx8100d because my friend has it on his and his hit hard but i heard jbl was good for the buck and I was wondering what everyone on here would thinkwould be best out of all the amps out there.

what is the ohm config and would you like for it to have a ssf also how many watts are you wanting to give them

man a ssf isn't really necessary, if u got a sealed box, or if ur subs are not overpowering your subs...

the jbl is good for the buck though

I was thinking 2 ohms in a sealed box with between 600 and 900 watts a piece being pushed to them

I have a Cadence A7HC which is 1200w x 1 @1ohm. It's little brother, the A5HC, is 600w x 2ohm. This is the best amp I have ever owned, very efficent and clean. They are also comp. rated. The A7 is 50w and the A5 is 25w. Here check it out:http://tms-electronics.com/product.asp?productid=A5HC

I would definatley take the MTX over the JBL, but Trixter makes an excellent point, the Cadence A7 is one of the best out there for the money, and few people know about it, great amp for comps

First of all, what model subwoofers do you have (SWR-1221D ?) ?
Secondly, I don't recommend running the MTX 81000D to a pair of 12" Type-Rs unless you're ABSOLUTELY 100% SURE OF WHAT YOU'RE DOING ...

I suggest u get a JBL 600.1. some people may dislike JBL amps for whatever reason but i have one and its great. I have heard a pair of Type R's being pushed by a Jbl 600.1 and it sounded great.

I compaired a few of the higher end amps like Crossfire, MMats, Directed, Cadence... When compairing the specs I like the Cadence the best.
