I went to install my new alpine 9886 today and when I pulled the stereo out I realized the harness I had was the wrong one. I didn't realize my car had a factory monsoon system in it. What is the best way to go about installing an after market stereo in a car with a monsoon system? Car is an 01 olds alero by the way.

Seems like everywhere I searched there was not the right one listed for an Alero. I found one for the same year Grand Am. Only costs $28 too. Would still utilizing the monsoon amp be better than using the head units power? I have no clue on the specs of the monsoon amp, but the 9886 puts out 18watts x 4 I think.

U can do either 2 things.

1. Bypass factory amp and use the hu to power speakers.

2. Buy the correct harness to intergrate the moonsoon amp.

If it was my car, I would replace all speakers and run a aftermarket amp. It will run more cash but will sound 10x better.
