I purchased a Viper 1200.1 Amp and 2 Rockford Fosgate P3 12's (P312D2) just recently and I dont want to wire it up wrong. I have been installing my own systems since I could drive but now that Im older and a little smarter, I want to do it the right way...not just plug wires untill it makes noise lol. Im not educated on ohms or anything like that, I can run the wires fine, I know the proper gauge to use and everything but I need help on HOW to wire them subs/amp. Seeings how its one channel, im pretty sure its bridgeable and Im going to continue to research to find out. First, is this a good setup to use and second, can someone pleeaase help me anyway they can on how to wire the subs/amp. Thanks in advance.

Well, I have no idea what that amp does at what, but your final load will be @ 2 ohm.

2x Dual 2 = 2 ohm

EDIT: Looked it up, looks like you're only going to be able to get about 400 RMS for each sub.

Rated Power @ 2 ohm: 800 x 1

If you were to have boughten 2x D4 subs, you could get a 1 ohm final load, and get 1200 RMS.

This is a 2 channel amp, should i bridge it still or put each sub to a channel? Sorry to sound stupid, i just wana get the most reliable power, not neccasarily the loudest, but quality. Also, should i get a cap? Its going in a mint condition 1994 mazda mx6, and i cant stress mint condition enough, everything is brand new on it.

1200.1....the .1 meaning one channel, not two, it's a monoblock, there is probably 2 +'s and 2-'s, only need to use one of each, so the diagram LinxuS posted is correct. probably don't need a cap for that system, spend ur money on electrical upgrades like the big3, batt, or alt. there's a sticky in the electrical section.

Ok, i changed the setup. Im going to run 1 12" kicker L7 (2 or 4 ohm stable) with the Viper 1200.1 Amp. Should i wire the single sub the same as 2 to get 2 ohms? And also, so it doesnt drain my car, would a gel battery be good enough or do i have to do more? Thanks guys
