Ok well ima tell you the story of tonight in a short summary...then ask for your help...

It starts with me going to get my box installed at Robins (Iamamp3pimp) and the box looked good and blah blah...so he wired the subs to 2 ohms and we were gunna hook it up to the powerbass just because it was already installed and would be quicker (this is after 3 hours of prep)...i smell something and ask robin if he smells it too...he reaches his hand down to smell where i am on the other side of the car and goes wtf near his hand...to our suprise my RCAs were melted together and melting at random points in the line...ive never heard/seen anything like this...anyone have any idea???

We then said ok the powerbass is ****ed up and put the MA amp on there...keep in mind the powerbass did start up n shit...the MA DOES NOT POWER UP AT ALL or even try to...checked remote and everything...only thing i changed was longer wires to second battery and different ground...think the ground would make that big of a difference??

Any advice would help thanks so much for anyones help...

Trey

Any way the RCA's could have contacted the 12 volt power wire? I have never heard of this happening, and it sounds like it could have screwed up a bunch of equip. What about the HU? Is it still working?

sounds like there's bad connection or no connection at all on the ground!

That's probably why the rca cables melted.

When theres no ground the amp tries to take the ground from the rca cables instead.

try fixing the groundcables and try again...

The MA amp may not start at all cause the rca cables are totally burnt up now...

that depends, if the MA amp draw more current in idle than the powerbass, it might not start up.

It can even fail to start up if it is more sensitive to voltage drop too.

Since the rca cables are really weak, you could probably get voltage drop by only trying to start up teh amp...

yea true that well tomorrow im going to get new RCAs and get a new ground somewhere...the MA didnt have the RCAs plugged in when we tried to start it up the second time tho so..and the MA should draw alot more power idle than the powerbass so its probably just a bad ****ing ground which is **** cause its the same ground i used before...

whoa dude you didnt tell me about this
cause it didnt happen until tonight...ima problem solve it tomorrow to find out what the problem was...if worse comes to worse...ima kill myself:crazy:
