ok im on the another forum, and dude post a thread.

"I was thinking about entering into a bass off saturday. My boy had his volt meter so we decided to test my system. My voltage is dropping down to the 8s when the bass hits hard. And thats with a 15 farad cap. Im running two 2600w 15s off of a 3000 D-class mono power acoustik amp at 1 ohm. Any suggestions???"

and the first reply is to get an ho alt.

so im like wow, ok. told him to first take the cap out, and upgrade all his wires/ do the big 3, and if youre still seein major drops put a battery n the back.

but everybody wanna keep sayin that he needs a ho alt, when all im sayin is start small and work yo way up. theres no need for an alt, when all you need is bigger wire.

i think i made like 1 or 2 incorrect statements n the thread...

so who is rite?

Don't worry about who is right or wrong he will fry his wiring and amp before we get to that:laugh:

If you don't know, don't post. Buying a HO alt would be the best scenario to keep the voltage up. If the current alt won't keep up with one battery full tilt how do you expect it to do with 2? Yeah it will be fine for short amounts of time but what happens when the batteries start depending on the alt to charge them back up? The best option would be a H/O alt. If he gets a good one he'd only need one battery. He'd also need an isolator for the 2nd battery, and that's more money that can be put towards the alt. Adequate wiring is a given, if he doesn't have it then he shouldn't have 3k on tap.

no, there is absolutely no need for an isolater in his application
