need help fast, which wire is pos and neg???

tip next time. cut the wires, leave the clip in the factory speaker leaving some of the speaker wire atached, pop the speaker with a 9 volt batt, or 12. and see which way the speaker moves. that will tell you pos and neg.

or you could just buy the book for your car at the autozone, then you can rebuild that car from scratch.

whats weird is that i could hook either 4 wires together and it would still play, and they all sounded the same. its a 4 ohm speaker but i dont know.

yea but it didnt help much cuz the wires were different colors that on that chart. on the left front side they were green/yellow. and blue/yellow. i stripped them on bothe sides and connected it together like that on both sides. i think i did it right cuz they give out clean sound and bass. thanks though

I once did an install where my friend did'nt get a harness. It was 12am and he did'nt want to wait untill morning to go buy one, he insisted I go ahead and do it. Midnight no harness and no DMM on a ford to top it off, what a f****n hassel it was. Blew the acc wire in the process and he got all pi**ed off. Since then I have never done an install without a harnessI don't give a s**t if they order me to.

I've never had a problem doing it this way, I have installed 2 different headunits in my car that way since I couldn't find a harness. ford thunderbird is 70-1771, or 1770, i dont have the book in front of me, you can get it at any car stereo shop.
