need help fast, which wire is pos and neg???

im installing some speakers right now and i forgot to get the wiring harness for my truck, so im just going strip them and connect them like that. which wires are positive and negative? theres a blue and gray one, and then theres a yellow and gray one? thanks

I got 20 bucks saying the grey one is the negative.

I really don't know for sure though.

Notice how each speaker has a grey wire in common with the other speaker, prolly means its a ground.

Bad idea to do it without the harness, I hope it is not a Ford.

I'm pretty sure the grey ones are negative, I checked the Install doctor site and the only harness diagram that had grey speaker wires in it showed that they were negative (front) black for the rear speakers.

nope its a dodge. these are 6X9's there going in my front door. the factory wires are the blue and gray on and the yellow and gray one, then theres two wires from the speaker that are gray, and then black and gray. i cant just strip the factory wires and connect the two together like that?

I once did an install where my friend did'nt get a harness. It was 12am and he did'nt want to wait untill morning to go buy one, he insisted I go ahead and do it. Midnight no harness and no DMM on a ford to top it off, what a f****n hassel it was. Blew the acc wire in the process and he got all pi**ed off. Since then I have never done an install without a harnessI don't give a s**t if they order me to.

i'm still confused.. there are only 2 wires from the factory speakers connected. one is blue/gray and the other is yellow/gray. Its like this in the back as well, Now which one is (+) and which is (-). Knowing this i figured i can strip those wires and then connect the gray wires i received with my new speakers.
