need help deciding

well i have 1 ascendant arsenal 15 which will hold 1000 watts rms and a bnib dc 2.0 amp both for sale
how much for both? im not sure if i want used though.

You can find help here, I have found that most people prefer ported for rap music. Also go with as much cone area as you can. (As long as you have space for the box). I'd start with only one car, get it done first and then you will have a better idea what you want for the other.
How much space do you want to use in the jeep? How much power are you planning on using? Are you going to change the speakers and HU also?
whatever space i need in the trunk. i dont really use it so it doesnt matter. dunno about power. i plan too change them but not right away.

if you can fit under 6 inches u cant beat this deal get 2 of these bad boys nd u will slam
T3 Audio T600-12D4 12" 600 Watt Dual Voice Coil Subwoofer 269-090

10's only have 5.2 mounting

T3 Audio T600-10D4 10" 600 Watt Dual Voice Coil Subwoofer 269-089
might do 4 12's in the jeep.

Another vote on going with as much cone area as you can with the space available. Shipping on the non mainstream brands to Canada may add another hundred to the sticker price on a large sub. Odds are the mainstream ones are shipped in bulk and not as much tied into them for shipping. Lately I've been playing with SSA for sql. Another idea would be a mach 5 ixl, they are made in canada, so you wont have to pay quite as much for shipping. It would be a good idea to learn what your electrical can support before you buy a sub or amp. It should be a well though out process or you throw money away burning things up.Good Luck
how can i learn what my cars electrical can handle? whats a good site to order the mach 5 ixl?

if you have the room i would go with bigger woofers. IMO

The older the car the less amperage the alternator has. In turn the less wattage it can support. As a general guide late 80's to early 90's are 40-95 amp alts. 90's to early 00's are 75-100 amps. 00's to 12's are 85-140 amps. The more amps you have available, the larger you can go with wattage. You need to do the big 3 which should be a sticky over on the electrical forum. It's just 1/0 wires replacing the positive from alt to battery and 2, 1/0 wires for grounding. If your alt will not do what you need then you have to upgrade to one that will. In some cases if you are borderline adding a second battery is enough. Generally most cars can handle 1000 watts. Though with a lower amperage alt a second battery would be needed. Newer cars can generally get into 1500-2000 watts with a second battery. I am going about 1900 on big 3 and 120 amp alt. I have the second battery hardware installed and have to pick up the battery tomorrow. If I listened to rap I would most likely need a 180 amp alt as well. So in other words there are a lot of variables, but when you find out what amp alt you have most likely someone here can tell you what you need to achieve your goals. Or where to stay if you want to remain stock.

He still hand makes his subs. They go in and out of stock so you just have to check in from time to time or email him on when he expects to do another run. I have some of his 18s in home audio. They are pretty good subs, not real popular, but the guys that run them on here in their cars always have good things to say about them. iST Ltd.
