Im looking for a temporary budget amp than will do 1000@2 and 1500@1 unclipped..budget is 200shipped (im in Toronto Canada). Need some input as im currently looking into these and will be pulling the trigger in the next 24hrs

1)Audiopipe APSM-2000

1 x 900 WATTS RMS @ 4 OHMS

1 X 1400 WATTS RMS @ 2 OHMS

1 X 2000 WATTS RMS @ 1 OHM

can probably get a clean 1500 out of it

2)MB Quart ONX1.1600

550 Watt x 1 Channel @ 4 Ohm

1100 Watt x 1 Channel @ 2 Ohm

1600 Watt x 1 Channel @ 1 Ohm

most say these will do rated if not a little more

3)Hifonics ZRX1500.1D

4 ohms: 500 watts x 1 chan.

2 ohms: 1000 watts x 1 chan.

1 ohm: 1500 watts x 1 chan.

pretty much the same as the MB Quart from what I see

lemme know guys...also consider used amps from members

Forget 1 and 3. Avoid Audiopipe if you want clean power, and same goes for Hifonics other than the BRZ series and a few of their older amps

Think of it this way.. Why would Hifonics make an amp with a similar rating to the BRZ for a cheaper price? Because the quality reflects the price

I love my apsm 2000 kicks the sht outta my sa15's. absolutely no problems. I have no "audible" clipping at 2 ohms and recommend it highly for a temp amp it's perfect just be reasonable with your gains .

I have run into several people with the apsm2000 and all of them are happy with the value. Everybody that downs them do so without ever owning one . They are budget amps you do get what you pay for so don't expect the world out of them and u will be atleast satisfied with the value.

Btw mine benched 1139 watts at 2 ohm with no clip at 11.8v Not enough power supply for my guy to bench it at one ohm ,for 175 shipped its a pretty good bang for the buck..

The sq1200.1 is a good value as well might check them out. That's what I was gonna get till my buddy got in a bind andd sold the ap to me for 75$ bnib

yea i figured since the apsm1500 does around 1100 clean at 1ohm, the apsm2000 would do about 1500

-im torn between the mb quart and the audiopipe

I'd go with the MB Quart. The AP may have less distortion when not running full power but the distortion is still there. The fans are also loud and annoying.

are there any threads on the onyx 1600..clamped..i cant seem to find any

I've used both an ONX1.1500d and an APSM 1500d and the Mb quart is way better. I'm sure the 1600 is just as good as the 1500 was, just 100 more watts.

Don't buy that audiopipe garbage.

Here is my thought, theory. Those speakers are 80w rms. Half of that is 40w rms. Add the 40 to the 80 and you get 120w. Get an amp that is 120w...

well, thats kind of an open ended question....., you can do 2500rms@1ohm, or you can do a pair of 1k-1200rms@2ohms. just have to know the amp...
