Need help building a custom box for a boat!

I am having trouble figuring out what the dimensions of the port are. I know its 6" wide, but I do not know the length of the port or the length of the bends.

It says "physical port length 15.25", I assume that's the length of the port but I still don't know the length of the bends.

I've got most of the box cut but would appreciate some advice on the port.

You gotta use these designs to help you figure out the woodwork. The red lines in the boxes indicate the port length, add them together, it will be the port length for the box. How long each piece of wood needs to be has to be calculated with some basic math. Always include thickness into your calculations which is .75 if you are using 3/4 ply.

however, if you are using my picture design style with my numbers on the calculator, with 23.5 port -1.5 for thickness then minus 3 for port width in the rear. So a 19x10.5 piece will give you the adequate port length for 35.0-35.5hz tuning, If you want to tune lower, you can add a bend but the 19x10.5 will just be a straight shot no bend.

I have used the design you created, I played around with it a bit in the tuning calculator but your design seems to be right where you told me it needed to be. I'll just do a straight port which keeps me in the 35-37hz you recommended.

Thanks for your help. I played around in the link you sent but I dont really understand what its telling me. I didnt see any boxes that matched my size or quantity of subs.

The site was just for reference so you can see how to figure out port length and how long your wood cuts should be.

These measurements don't add up. If I have a box with a width of 45" and subtract 6 for the port, your left with 39". The overall diameter of the subs is 10.5". If they were touching that still totals 41" but there is only 39" of surface space. If I jump it up to 56" everything fits well but it drops me to 30.24 hz. Im pretty confused at this point. Where should I go from here?

would splitting it up and porting each side help bring the HZ up to 35?

Is there a formula to calculate the port size? I did not see a specific formula on the link you sent. Bare with me im sure your getting a little frustrated with my lack of understanding.

Here's if I split the two boxes in the center and add a port on each end with a 56" box.

Is my math correct? If it is, this seems to be my best option.

You wont have much space left for your side speakers then. Just lower port length to get higher tuning or reduce box size. Change each value and play around to see whats the best configuration for you.
