need help asap!!!

i got a 94 ford explorer and i can get the factory head unit out. i got the two key things to take it out but it wont budge. when i pull on the fac. hu it pulls the dash with it (i already got the bezel popped losse (sp). and today is my only day off for the rest of the week so yeah i need to get this in today.... btw the setup is alpine d310, the black box to play movies while driving,factory speakers (for now) a power acoustik 1600watt amp, and 2 jl w6v2 12s in a sealed box (adding 2 more later with a ported boxs and 2 1000/1s. thanks for your time . and please helpppppppp asap!!!!!!!

Coat hanger or you need the Ford radio removable tools i believe.

Yeah they should be Ford factory removal tools, I don't know if thats what you have or not, they need to slide in pretty far and that releases the clips that hold the head unit in place

yeah those key things are *****es....do you have the riht ones? they're shaped like a U....just stick em in and pull...takes a couple tries but they do work.

Oh by the way the tools are "U" shaped and have a tapered pointed end I believe

yeah i got them . but when i pop em in it pulls the whole dash out with it..... does the factory hu slide out the front out out the back up it??

Sounds to me like the head unit isn't dis-engaging from the mounting sleeve that holds it in to place... the sleeve is probably attached to the dash

thats what i was thinking. i got the pass. side disengaed but the drivers side wont go.and please dont think im a noob at this im 18 and ive installed prolly around 13-14 hu and crap loads up amp/sub setups... ive already installed a hu in a fs chevy this weekend and now i need to get mine in lol.

oh and on the drivers side the remove tool goes all the way back and pops/clicks in and crap but wont go.

Haha yeah im only 19 and ive done several installs also, well all I can say is keep trying it and hope for the best, sounds like you've tried several times though, try pushing the whole unit in while you push the tool in with it, thats kind of odd that the pass side worked and the drivers side didn't though

Yep had it happen to me b4 the keys wouldent work.... You need to start ripin the dash plate off youll get it out eventually.

o i got the whole bezle off but the hu is still holdin it on and i cant get it off the whole way. anybody else had this prob???
