need help...again

ive had sub back port back. sub front port front. subs up port front.subs up port back...and the best sounding was sub up port back...but firing the port in the cabin was way louder

You'd have to have a buddy with that sub (willing to lose it for your amusement) and a vehicle with an electrical system capable of supporting say....100 amps of continuous current draw without dropping below 13.8V or so. Just so we could dial it in with a big, efficient amp at a very low thd.

Thermal failure happens at different power levels for each frequency and every fraction in between each frequency. Mechanical failure happens on a totally different curve. Like torque and horsepower, they meet/cross paths at some point. Each are completely different in EVERY specific enclosure, and that even changes as you stick that same enclosure into different environments.

Notice that WinISD can't even calculate the response difference if you decide to mount the subs on the top versus the same axis as the vent? It can't even tell you what happens when you rotate the box 90 degrees. It's effectively worthless, because it cannot calculate any response trace indicative of what will be perceived in any particular vehicle geometry.

A LOT of work goes into calculating what type of enclosure it takes to make any specific sub reach your sound goals in your given vehicle, on your given power, with your given maximum dimensions. Anyone willing to do the design for a low price is not qualified to do so with ANY accuracy. But of course, you are welcome to do whatever you choose.
