6 1/2" Speakers

Does anyone have experience with the folowing:

Boston Z6 $1000/pair

Rainbow Profi Vanadium Phase Plug $750/pair

I don't like the Boston speakers because they can't be discounted.

Any other suggessions?

I'm looking for the best speaker I can get for sq, and of course at the cheapest price.

Thanks.

Do you care about a warranty ? If not , buy those Bostons from Ebay .... They are selling below cost , but have had the serial #'s scratched off. They're probably perfect speakers , but Boston won't even repair them if they go bad when the serials have been removed , OR if they can trace them to a non-authroized sale. As a Boston dealer , I can guarantee you, you MUST have a receipt from an authorized dealer to get a damaged Boston piece repaired by them. Having said that , I think the Rainbow's SMOKE the Boston Z-Series. Better mid-bass , and much smoother and natural sounding highs. In the Rainbow line , the Profis sound more natural than the Profi Vanadiums though.

BTW , I have either owned , tuned , or installed ALL three of these sets many times over ......

Thanks very much Blue!

There are (3) 6 1/2 in the Profis series

CS 265 Profi

CS 265 Profi Kick

CS 265 Profi Phase Plug

Which one do you recommend?

And which sub to go with them?

Thanks so very much!!

Profi Phase Plug for ultimate SQ ...... Profi Kick for insanely great mid-bass. If I listened to more rock , rap , or metal I'd go with the Kicks , but if you are a Jazz , Vocals , Classical , ect .... I'd go with Phase plugs.

Sub is also going to be very music , and preference oriented. At this time , my favorite sub going is the Boston Acoustics SPG-555 in a 1cu ft sealed enclosure.

I see OZ Audio in addisdar's signature above.

How do these compare to Rainbow?

I found the OZ Audio 180CS for $300 online.

Seems like a great price if they retail for $650.

As I'm unable to hear any of these speakers, your help is much appreciated.

For $300 the CDTs would be good. But they are NOT going to compare with the Rainbow Profi line in any way .....
