Ok, experts, here we go!

The vehicle in question is a 2012 Grand Cherokee with the 9 speaker + 8" sub package. I've found the entire system to be flat and generally void of any balance whatsoever. Obviously, it has to go!

Please give yourself a 3k budget and replace the following components (No HU replacement):

3.5" center

6x9" front doors

1" front tweeters

6.5" rear doors

2.5" rear pillars

506 watt 12 channel amp

8" sub

Only other caveats are I will likely go the JL Audio stealthbox 10" for the sub at $700, which would leave you $2300 for the rest.

Thanks in advance for the help, gentlemen...

are you sure it's 6x9's in the front doors and 6.5 in the rear? that seems backwards from what's normally in cars... but I haven't been in a newer jeep.

6x9s in front doors. Posted a link but apparently has to be moderator approved and they must be a week behind //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

12 channel amp? Gonna be hard to find that...
Well, obviously that is some foolishness Chrysler dreamed up. I'm just trying to replace the entire system into something with much better SQ and I'd like some advice around going active with that budget vs. passive and so on. Using a 6x9 component in the front is limiting to say the least. Is it worth going the $400 Imaging Dynamics route with that budget, etc? I see that using the HAT 6x9 in component mode may be a pain, but a bit cheaper. Do I give up some bass and go 6.5? Is going active and just ignoring that 3.5 center channel the way to go?

Those are the issues I'm hoping you gentlemen can help with. Thank you...

dont worry about the center channel, a couple of nice 4 channel amps and a mono block for the sub would be perfect.also i'd do the 6.5 components in the frt doors as they tend to sound a bit better . i could set you up with everything you need for this system
