My Kickers be swaggin'
TL;DR = Need advice on amount of sound deadener, door speaker/amp buying advice for strong midbass.
Been awhile since my last posts, haven't had the money to keep funding my system, but I've started from a simple 10 inch sub with blown speakers and stock HU to what I have now. Have learned a lot and I'm ready to keep learning.
So, my current set up is listed in my signature, I've installed sound deadener, but a decent amount is still exposed. I'll post a picture sometime in the afternoon of my door panels. I seem to not be getting enough midbass in my speakers. Enough to make a substantial difference, but when the bass freqs in a song go from say 160 down to lower end bass, around 40, a bass drop for example, you can tell the obvious volume or DB difference in the drop from mid to low bass.
Maybe I havent sound deadened enough? Maybe these speakers just dont have a focal point thats sensitive in the midbass range? OR maybe 75 watts to each speaker isn't enough to get that midbass out of your speakers.
This leads me to my questions;
1. How much sound deadener is needed? IE How many layers etc (There are some holes still showing from lack of deadener supply.)
2. If deadener isn't my problem, what speakers/amp combo would work for my vehicle to get that strong midbass?(Ford Explorer requires 5x7 or 6x8 speakers. I'm looking for components this time, not coaxials.)
3. Where would I find speaker adapters if I have a say 6 inch speaker that requires a 6x8 fitting? Make a 6 inch speaker fit in a 6by8 fitting.
Thanks
