need components

Hey, i need some new components for my car. All i have now are the stock ones. I already have two twelve inch w3v3's for bass.

I went to a car audio store, and looked at JL components and also focal components. It was kind of pricy though. It was going to be over $1000 for 4 JL component speakers and a 450/4 v2 JL amp.

Is there significant audio difference in quality between JL components and cheaper components?

Does it really matter what brand amp i get to run my components? I got a JL amp for my subwoofers cuz i heard they were pretty good in maintaining wattage, but do i really need a good amp for my components?

Help needed. Thanks. I dont really want to spend that much, but i still want it to sound excellent.

JL makes quality products but you can do basically just as good for a much better price

^same with focal (which are also great products)

same applies for the amp - SQ wise your speakers will distort more than alot of amps but some do sound better than others IMO -

buy your comps first then match the amp to them -

you basically get what you pay for but a decent 4 channel amp shouldnt kill your bank

just dont "boss" it or anything...

if you're on a budget but still want something that sounds real nice look into the Phoenix Gold RSD comps. i just bought a set and i am in love. the have a very full sound and get loud.

they can be had for $87 shipped on ebay. search on here if you like, they have gottem excellent reviews buy everybody on here that has them or has installed a set. some magazine(can't remember the name) even gave them a real nice review.

i absolutely love mine! i have them on a kicker zx550.2 with the gains set for 150 watts rms per side.

Boston Acoustics SL60's i just got them for $300 but i know you can get them for much cheaper. I love them.

hmmmm i dont really know. i could go for the JL speakers and the JL amp, but i really dont want to spend over 1k on speakers and an amp + new batteries. Wat speakers could i get that have around the same quality as JL or focal or somethign like that. I might end up gettin a JL amp still to run em.

So basically, wat would match a JL 450/4 amp, and sound as good as JL/focal components?

i kind of want to get em cheap if possible, but i still want to get them brand new, and not from an online website ( i dont have a credit card and this is something iahve to do by myself or my parents would probably get mad at me for spending more money on my system lol)

i dont have the JL 450/4 amp. thats probably the amp that ill buy. i already have a JL 500/1 amp already for my w3's.

so ur selling ur components? and for how much? and how do i know that they aren't going to quit on me and die.. lol.

how do i make sure that they will last a long time though? and not just for like a year.

I've had people buy stuff from other people online, and for the first year it would work fine, and then their stuff would just blow/break/or stop working. Is it just better to buy stuff new with a warranty?
