ive got mixed results about my new build. i was told to go 7 cubes tuned to 36hz.

im kinda confused because im being told that would be to big for a single 18" hdc3. i have a sundown saz-2000d on it and i know they are underated. i compete in spl but the comps i go to are not burps. its metered on music on 3 different runs and 3 different places in your vehicle. ANY help or input is welcomed... thanks

well like i said i do go to comps. i do drive this pretty much on a daily. im wanting to get loud as possible.

as in my sig my current box is sub up, port back and 5.6cu. id be happy to be able to do a 148 @ the headrest on music.

getting loud means building several enclosures at various tuning to test what works for your application. I can tell you daily those 18s like space and 6-6.5 would be ideal with 96-104in2 of port area....however with SPL it will change per your application. It may like larger or smaller enclosures and the same for port area.

hm. good point.right now im at like a 145 @ headrest right now 5.6cu with a 6in x 16in lport. and i peak like 44hz.

For easy tuning, you might want to try 2 6" aeos. Start a full length, then trim down an inch or so, then play, and so on, till you have it where you like it.

A guy on audioque's site was using two aeros and a HDC318, he had some records. This was before they changed their site. Guy drove a trailblazer, I think he was on here and some other forums.

yea i read his post on the aq site but i didnt remember him saying aero ports... i guess im drop to 5cubes n then jump to 6.5cubes.

right now i think i can pull a 147 with it cranked on a burp. but id like to do it playing music lol

He had sub up in the middle, then 2 aeros, one in each lower corner.

6's are a lot easier to find unless you can find someone to make a custom 8
