Alright, thus is going to be for my new build. I am wanting to compete with this setup if I can I don't know what class or anything yet. As this will be my first time in a comp. I have an 06 silverado extended cab, 2 dp 21's dual 1 ohm and two 20.1's. I need help with some box specs for these subs. I would really like just specs as far as cubes and port area. And I am thinking maybe aero ports, which I have never messed with. So I don't know how to figure the port area on them. I will search some of this stuff later when I get off work. But if I could have some of your input would be a big help as far as having your knoledge to go by also.

I wouldnt mess with aeroports with subs this big, you will need the addtional bracing that slot ports can provide, as well as more on top of that.

16 cubes with 225 square inches of port would be nice @ 32 hz imo

I would still use the aeros... just use some all-thread all around each port //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif should keep it pretty tight

but how many aeros are you talking? 5 6" aeros would suffice, but then youre talking about adding 150 or so to the cost of the build.

arent they about 30/each? if not more?

Closer to $40 after shipping...I think he'd be better off with a slot port, also considering how much space those aeros are going to take up.

Try dual slot ports...both for 50hz and plug one for daily around 33hz.

This is going to take up a lot of space though...hope you don't mind your back window being partially blocked(maybe mostly).

I was actually thinking around 2 8" aeros to save internal air space. As I do not want to block all of my back window. This is my daily driver. But I'm not sure how to figure the air space they will take up or the area of the opening on them. I am about to have some time off and will be doing alot of number crunching.

I love tuning on the lower end 32 or less. But I was thinking around 17 cubes with 272 inches of port?

Could you explain thus a little, as far as how much area on each port, and how after I plugged one I would still have enough port area to push the drivers for daily? Also how does it work out that both are tuned for 50 together and just one would be 33?

Death Penalty Series Subwoofers

Driver Death Penalty Series 21

Sealed Not Recommended

Ported 7.5 cubes - 10.0 cubes, 90 - 160 Inches of Port, 32-37 Hz

Average: 8.5 cubes (per sub), 120 inches (per sub), 32-37 Hz

Both are nice, we used 16 @ 36 for a 154.7 Headrest/Termlab @ 38Hz Jeep Grand Cherokee. They are boomy in that little airspace though, the DP 21 has an pretty high Qts making optimum response require alot of enclosure volume. This ought to stear ya in the right direction!
