Need better box for 2 type r 12

My actual box is 4.3 ft/cu tune to 32hz hooked at 1ohm on a bxi1606d. My subsonic is around 26-28hz

My main complain is the fact that sometime (i should say on some track) the bass isn't sharp at all. It sound like if the subs didn't have the time to recover from the previous hit. Real sloppy Like a continous bass going nowhere. I feel like the box might be tune too low or is too big. The amp is not clipping so i'm pretty sure it's more a box question

The box design i got right now was suggested by people on RealmofExcursion. I does get extremly loud, but i'm not sure that's what i'm looking for. I want to get the best sq off the type r 12 inch. I'll be going sealed if it's a necessity.

what would you suggest? Alpine say around 0.7-1ft/cu per sub but peoples say that they are pretty off in their suggestion

Type R's aren't known for sq really. But Maybe tune lower or go sealed?

type r is not an sq driver. your best bet is to go sealed, but output will suffer.

how will it suffer? if i need to push the gain too much for my listening level i ain't go nowhere. I,m gonna loose around 3db around 30-40hz or more?

Would the sound be more controlled? Punchier? Sloppier? or just crappy

i would raise the tuning to 35 hz and lower volume to 4.0. it won't take a dramatic change in tuning or box volume to change the performance.

I have two of mine 12" in a 3.5^3 @36hz and I'm not liking how the SQ (WHAT SQ!?!?!) is. It's loud as ---- but plays sloppy. Way louder than my 06 S15l7, but....I like how the kicker sound more.

you don't want to make you alpine sound good. you just want them to hit stupid loud

put them in 3.7

poart both subs with 1 poart @ 36Hz

if you want sq, go with type X

so something around 36hz 3.7 would sound a little more precice but be a little more quiet too that right?

I guess i could try that
