touchet, I was giving the guy the benefit of the doubt of actually knowing what he was talking about. you're right it's ca.com and I should have know better.

What is funny is that most of us on here know how to wire the subs...yet we still mess it up from time to time. I just use a DMM to check instead of posting haha. I just had it happen to me the other day when helping a buddy with his 12 12s in a wall setup..to many stupid wires in that thing haha.

I have also made this mistake as a result of trying to hurry. Dangerous, too. If you don't catch it and it's part of a multi-driver setup, you can cook that mass of coil with the quickness.

Can you say "Induction Heater"? Another quick question just to throw out a possibility......are you using different terminals on the amplifier when wiring one way versus another? If so, you could very well have a dead terminal usually due to a shatty/cold solder joint on the board. Very rare, but possible. I'm just asking since they've covered the opposing coil polarity possibility and since you said it read 4ohms on your testing equipment, so your terminals or connectors between coils are not the problem.

For all the people who say they havent wired things up wrong they are lying, people make mistakes. I had just a few weeks ago wired up my gf's orion hcca 250 wrong in mono. wasent bridging the wires internally correct and popped the amp, **** got so hot could of fried an egg on it.

We are all good, Bumpin' Goalie figured it out for me. It's funky no doubt. He had trouble to. It was just a struggle, but it's loud as **** and gains are playing it safe.

To be honest with you, Bumpin' figured it out. By this time I had been working on the system for about 6 hours so I was brain dead. It was something simple, of course. Just a wiring goof on my part.

What ya got that gets so loud?? Glad you got ur issue solved.

Strapping the amps, we had to cross wires and **** and all sorts of stuff it's a mess back there.
