Need an Active Headunit! Pleae Help

What I really need is a HU that I can used in an active setup. I already have the 4-channel amp, and a pretty good idea of what speakers I want. What are some headunits that will allow me to control an active setup, without using an external crossover??

Only eclipse? Is that the only brand that will work? Not that I don't like them, i just want to keep my options open. I am also open to older HU's as well. as long as they play MP3's. So what else is out there??

alpine and eclipse are the best for SQ so id mainly stay in those 2 brands, although pioneers 2006 stuff looks good and kenwood excelon gear is normally very good as well... its just that eclipse and alpine have the SQ reputation.

alpine 9835, 9815, 9855, clarion 9255, eclipse 8455, eclipse 8454, pioneer 860. thats all i could think of on top of my head.

personally i'd go with the eclipse 8455 because it has processing galore. probably the best out of the ones i listed. 10 band PEQ with 5 of the bands dedicated to EACH to the mids and tweets. the 9835 only has like a 5 band peq. not only that 8v preout with 55 ohm input impedance is great and hence the reason why general public opinion likes the eclipse better.

yea i bought the 8455 knowing that i would run a passive setup at the time but i knew eventually i might have gone active. but if you are running a passive setup and have no intentions of going active the 8445 was the better choice.

No it would not. Active means a banpass on your mids-which that deck does not have...
