Im planning to get kick pods for my crx. The question I have is, should I get a dedicated 6.5" midbass and put it in the stock door location or should I put the midbass into the kickpod and put the 6.5" mid in the door and leave the tweeter mounted on the kick pod??

There is no right or wrong way to do this. It is only a matter of which would work better in your application and without testing I couldn't say which is best.

But what I will say is that in my experience it would sound better if the mids & tweet were in the kicks and the mid-bass driver was in the door. Keeping the mid & tweet close ensures that the pathlengths are close. Also using kicks generaly allows the speakers to be farther from the listening posistion (also helping out with pathlengths (left to right)).

Don't be affraid to ghetto wire you speakers (aka all wires loose and wired in plain view). This way you can move speakers around see. Try tweeters on the dash and mids in the floor... just play around and see what you like best.
