Here it is. I'll be putting 1 10" sub in a civic. I'll be running off of a jbl bp600.1 amp. It runs closer to 750 watts at a 14.4 volt power source. I just want to run the 1 sub and am looking for sound quality with the ability to get a little spl happening occasionally. Sound quality and the ability to play lower than 30 hz are the most important aspects. I've looked at RE and Sundown. Anybody got any suggestions? I don't want a sub that is going to take up my whole trunk either.

I'm not sure what I'm willing to spend. Don't really want to go over $400 but if the sub is worth it, I'll run up to around $750 or so. I don't want to pay much more than what the amp ran me back when I bought it new several years ago. The thing is a beast. Ran 3 type E's off it back in the day in a single cab Sonoma and a sealed box. They did very well off that amp. ~1.3 ohm load and it never got more than warm and never shut off. I really like what I've heard about the RE and Sundown. I've just been out of the game for almost 10 years (marriage, kids, mortage- you know the drill). Just looking for something that sounds good and well, with really good sound quality. I know the bp600.1 isn't the best but it's what I've got and it isn't bad.

I thought I just posted a reply, but not sure where it went. I second the tantric recommendation because I am also very curious and want one of my friends to try one. What's appealing to me also is the Incriminator Audio Flatlyne. SSA Gcon looks good also.

We have a DC lvl 2 10" sub that is in mint condition that I am sure will meet your needs. PM if you are interested.

Whoa. Step away from the computer for a few hours and whamo! Thank you all for your input. You're some good folks. I'll have to start checking all these subs out and seeing what I can hear local. Local being the BFE of BFE. I've got 3 children, and 3 dogs that travel with me a lot. I also have hearing loss ( too many years behind a trigger), and it tales a truly unique sub to do it for me. I do shy away from 12's because I listen to a lot of country, rock, and gospel. R&B, soul, and some bass music occasionally. Maybe the tech has improved enough that 12's are as responsive as 10's, and if that is the case, I'd be open to a good tight sounding 12. As far as so little power, it does what I'm looking for. I know there are a lot of high wattage, cheaply priced amps out there, but they don't always last and I can't afford $2000-5000 for a quality, high wattage amp (see 7th sentence in). I have to make do with what I've already got. Just looking to add some after market highs, mids, and lows. Thought about the L7 but don't want a box that size. And I know there are better subs for the money. Bet I just made somebody mad with that last statement. Sorry if I did. But now I've got to start doing some research and locating. What do ya'll think about Memphis subs? Are they decent or just not worth the money?
