Whoa. Step away from the computer for a few hours and whamo! Thank you all for your input. You're some good folks. I'll have to start checking all these subs out and seeing what I can hear local. Local being the BFE of BFE. I've got 3 children, and 3 dogs that travel with me a lot. I also have hearing loss ( too many years behind a trigger), and it tales a truly unique sub to do it for me. I do shy away from 12's because I listen to a lot of country, rock, and gospel. R&B, soul, and some bass music occasionally. Maybe the tech has improved enough that 12's are as responsive as 10's, and if that is the case, I'd be open to a good tight sounding 12. As far as so little power, it does what I'm looking for. I know there are a lot of high wattage, cheaply priced amps out there, but they don't always last and I can't afford $2000-5000 for a quality, high wattage amp (see 7th sentence in). I have to make do with what I've already got. Just looking to add some after market highs, mids, and lows. Thought about the L7 but don't want a box that size. And I know there are better subs for the money. Bet I just made somebody mad with that last statement. Sorry if I did. But now I've got to start doing some research and locating. What do ya'll think about Memphis subs? Are they decent or just not worth the money?
