need advice on todays equiment

i would like to set up a system that i can enjoy. not an SQ system not a SPL system but something in between.

i like to listen a varity of music but i like it loud and to have some good bump in it.

when i was younger i ran some USAC and IASCA shows with a 89 blazer that had the follwing

( back in 1992-94)

1 Autotek "Champagne Series" BTS 8100

2 cerwin vega 12's in a ported enclousre

1 linear power amp don't rmember the model number but it was about 400 watts at 4 ohm stereo on 4 6.5 morel mids with 1.5 dome seperates ( not sure if you guys know of morel they where an english comp comprable to the focals of that time )

also ran a those big *** sony 4 channel amps sometimes which where realy good back than buti understand alot of my old stuff is junk today.

i am looking for something that would sound liek the above setup of old today.

i recently installed 2 jl audio 12W3d4 in my sons cherokee on a RF 360a amp and and 300 watt eclipse on some botsons and it sounds ok the 12's are in a sealed box and can get a spec sloppy on some rock stuff but in all it sounds ok

but i want something better for my truck

i have a 2003 dodge dakota club cab

and don't have a clue what to use for subs, i understand that jl and jbl make some decent sub amps but was wondering about the new autotek amps if the are decent

for highs i am thinking mb or boston driven by a big alpine

any sugestions ?!?!?

for componants look into the CDT ef-cl61 cf set. for subs u could look into maybe a brahma or a D2 as i understand stereo integrity is gunna be back on track soon if all goes well...AMAZING QUALITY...they didnt go under for reasons of the company. there stuff was stolen. u could also look into an SX from RE. XXX from the same company is a very good sub and can get **** loud. i dont really know your budget so thats just what i usually reccomend because i have heard amazing things about them.....not because i've heard them. also, RE8's are amazing little subs. i would go adire audio though.

i am wondering about the shiva 12's are they duel 4 ohm VC ? at 150 bucks these subs sound to good to be true

bugget realisticly is around 1000 to start,

figure 2 amps, subs, front door

instal by me and box built by me i been doing instals since i was 14 i worked at shop before i could drive got paid in equipment for the first 2 years.

just haven't done anything much since about 1997 as far as instals go and haven't bought anything since 94

okay well the shivas...from what people say....not my interaction with them.....are one of the best if not the best budget sub. get **** loud and sound **** good doing it. im serious bout checkin out those CDT's once again from what i hear u wont be dissapointed.

what is a CDT ef-cl61 ?!?!? i never heard of them and the RE subs who makes them and where can i find info on them.. remebrr i been out for a while don't know all these new mode numbers, kinda like you prolly don't know what a LP8002 is or xe500 hehehe

that CDT is a 6.5" component set
