Which would be the best choice out of these three,

Zapco reference 6.5's

Focal Polyglass 165v2

DLS UP6i

I live in a small town and dont have acess to listen to any of these I have only heard a set of zapco iforce components and they were lacking in bass. I really dont want any more suggestions as i have been searching and reading reviews for the past few weeks and this is what im down to. I just havnent heard any of these. They will be installed in the doors on an 02 monte carlo and powered by the smaller memphis belle.

Just run them off the two front channels I have a set of boston sl95's in the rear deck. I just still like the sound of haivng rear speakers. They get drown out by the sub in loud songs but you can still hear the highs most the time. I would just run them passive for now.

Have you considered bridging the channels to provide the fronts a solid 150+ WRMS and just running the rears off the HU? Would do worlds of good for your sound stage and imaging.

Which set are you leaning towards, and why?

Im not leaning towards any of the three as i dont know how any of them sound compared to each other. I dont want a harsh sounding set. Running the rears off the deck would work great as well. Ill have to see once i get a set tho. I guess if I was leaning towards any of them it would have to be the zapco's because there is a zapco dealer in town. no focal or dls dealer within 500 miles of me so any repairs would a whole lot easier with the zapco's.

No but have heard the zapco i-force set. They sounded really good but just didnt have as much midbass as i would like. Im asking on here because I have really no way of listening to any of these. The only car audio brands in my town are crossfire, memphis, and zapco. But they only have a few different sets in the i-force line. nothing higher up in their line.

I just had the pleasure of doing 2 sets of the DLS UP6i's in an G35 coupe. They are powered off a PDX150.4 and I must say they sounded great. Gobs of midbass.

Will the tweeters on the focals sound alot brighter than the others since they are titanium? Also do the up61's have a different sound because of the cone being aluminum?

Focal tweeters are harsh compared to even other metal dome tweeters. Nothing a bit of tuning can't fix to take the edge off, imo....but they'll still appear bright.

I would stick definately with the Focals. Zapco amps are awesome amps, I am not impressed with their speakers. Focal's from my experience are some of the most transparent components available. I also run Focal/JM Labs speakers in my home system. For amps though, I would stick with Zapco or ARC Audio. Just my opinion though, take it for what its worth.
