Guys,

I need some advice on budget 1-Ohm stable amps. Needs to be able to push a mono 1.5-Ohm load and do so at 500-600w. Would like small footprint designs that make power very efficiently (crappy factory alt).

Budget is sub $200.

thx for any advice u can give..

Rich

How small of a footprint? Are you looking to buy new?
New or used is fine. Doesn't have to be PDX sized but I don't want one that's 20"L //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Looking at their specs, it doesn't say that the zx 750.1 can handle a 1.5 ohm load.
You would probably be ok though. Kicker makes a tough amp. And after impedance rise, you'll be around 2 ohms anyway.

whew, you scared me. I have been outta car audio for a while. I didn't think that it was that long ago that audiobahn had started making good product //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I wanna be really careful not to blow an amp or clip the sub. Are you sure that the zx could do it?

Pretty positive, there are people on the forum that run zx's at 1 ohm for daily.
Good to know, I'll add that to the short list //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. Any other options that match the criteria?

maybe look into a Hifonics bxi600d does 600 @1 , they can be had well within your budget.
maybe an Orion 600d should give you the 500-600 you want @ 1.5.

good luck
thx,

I had thought about the hifonics stuff. Do they do rated power? Are they fairly clean and reliable?
