Need Advice - 2005 Ford Mustang Coupe Build

I think you're unnecessarily worried about the alternator. Most people can run 1500+ watt amps no problem on stock power. You just want to beef up the factory wires with a Big 3. I agree with the 8s in a transmission line being a solid choice. I'd even look for maybe a 15 that handles around 1k watts and put it in a 3-3.5 cube ported enclosure.

I agree with you , I might be unnecessarily worried with regards to putting in a system.

Actually, I had an experience wherein I was driving and it failed. The car went crazy, lights blinking, ac not working ..the experience was scary enough for me to think about keeping the alternator and battery in good shape.

But all said and done, guess it's time to do away with the fear and put in 2 subs and a good amp.

Mustang are easy to get loud...I have an 06 Saleen ...google or youtube search 151.9 Saleen and check out the short video....That was with one 12 in a daily box on the term lab meter...

If i were to go for a sealed box, I would buy this one. This has 1 cubic per sub.
Ford Mustang Coupe 05-15 Custom Fit Dual 12" Subwoofer Box - 2X12FORD-05-09-MSTNG

As for the subs and amps, I plan to buy them online during Thanksgiving unless I get a crazy deal for used one's here on forum or say locally on Craigslist.
Let me just say, His hds 208s in a T line will get a lot tighter, punchier and waay better sounding/impactful than a sealed box can ever achieve. It'll be perfect for your music choices.

This is the hds 208s box he builds. This is on less than 400 watts total, less than 200 watts per sub. even with two 12s in a sealed box, I doubt you'll get those same results on only 400 watts.

Thats a DDZ... doubt he has anything in that budget or the power to supply that.

I've got a 07 Cali gt. I had a arc 1100 on a single 12 sealed. Sounded pretty good all stock now we got a tantric hd 12 ported in a gzpa 4000 and it slams nice But 1100 rms will be nice for you. Jo electrical upgrades but a big 3 kit. You'll be fine

Two 12s in a sealed box can sound pretty sweet I was running these two 12s in My 06 Saleen and that thing would hit low...I had some notes on a demo cd that would have the car vibrating and you couldn't even hear the music...I loved demoing that CD...I ran a DD M3 on the pair at .375 daily ...

I dont think the op wants low lows with his music choice listed. Nor does he want an amp that big on low ohm wiring.

checked it out ...nice bass bro ..not sure if I have that amount of cash to spend though.

barely. 90% of metal does not have lows. For sure they dont have LOW lows anything below 35hz.. lol. I've put hundreds of metal songs on audacity's spectrum analyzer, Very rare does metal have true lows. Majority have the 50-80hz kicks. Maybe one 37-43 hz drop once in a while.
I haven't done so much analysis but I have metal songs playing every day in my car. Sub box tuned to 36 Hz, sounds awesome.
