Need a whole system. Advice please.

I have a 2011 Jeep Patriot. I am wanting to change out all of the speakers in it. It does not have the BA sound system that came as an option. It currently has 6x9s in all 4 doors. I will be replacing the HU as well. I don't need a sub right now but would like the option to add one later. What do you recommend for a new system? Budget for 4 door speakers, amp, and HU is $800.

Look around in the forum and study up so you get a better idea of what your looking for. Theres just too many options for you right now

so what size speakers does it have? u said if u get the option it has 6x9s but u didnt say if its stock(like yours) are they still 6x9s?

what do u need from your head unit? just cd? usb drive? big touch screen? nav?

My speakers are 6x9s. I would go 6.5" if it will provide me with better sound. As far as the head unit goes, I mainly listen to the radio or my ipod. I do not need nav or touch screen but if I can get a touch screen and dvd player and still have a nice sounding system then great.

ive heard 6.5s will sound better than 6x9s but i have no idea if its true or not.

i would personally run some average, cheap 6x9s in the back off the head unit power. either do a nice 2 channel amp for the front 6x9s and a mono sub amp for the sub, or a 4 channel, 2 channels for 6x9s and 2 for sub, if u dont want too large of a sub.
