need a sub that can play low

ok i already have subs built into my towers which are plenty loud but as you can tell by the graph below they drop off really bad around and under 30 hertz.

what would you guy recommend?

me build my own?

or recommend me a sub?

here is what i am thinking a getting a tc sounds 2000-15" sub and one plate amp 500 watts rms (only problem i see with this is if i screw up somehow on the box its gonna be peaky which i dont want)

Build your own. HT subs are normally tuned much lower than car audio subs. I'm running 4 Tempests and the box is tuned to 18Hz. They get PLENTY low and measured 129dB @31.5Hz at 1 meter. Running off a measly 800watts total....

thats another thing i was thinking also. its not that i want movies to be louder but will it be worth investing more for something i might not hear often?

transmission line would do it easily, but its a pretty long line!!!

my two 12inch Pioneer subs are doing 123dB +-3dB from 30 - 80Hz, in my listening position (about 2 meters from the subs) however, they were louder in a solid brick house.

what was that response even measured with though?

what power is that with?

Have you tried positioning the speakers differently in your room?

Placement can have a big effect on overall sound.

I might have something in my stash that will work really well. Think LMS 4000 but in a 15. I know they stopped making them so specs might be hard to find.

Can you get a larger amp, maybe around 800-1000W ?

These linear drivers have incredible low end, great for LFE.

yah i can get one from parts express their only like $50-70 more then the 500 watters. and that lms4000 is sick looking!

What ever you get make sure that you are not going to underpower it!!!! That is one of the biggest mistakes, for a driver to slam on extremely low frequencies it needs a good amount of power!!!!
