id suggest you buy some components that come with adapter plates for 6x9 holes

Massive Audio CK 6.9 III 6x9 component speakers, also convertible into coaxial. They're over your budget but under $300. Good brand, good reviews. I'd get those without thinking. There are really not that many good 6x9 component speakers.

I have the jbl p963's and i run 200 rms to them to make them happy (Power hungry speakers. They sound like dog **** on 110 rms but are very composed with 200). They are two ohm impedence though so make sure you look into if that works for you.
